Shop stair treads Online and Save with the Tarkett Johnsonite Raised Square Gateway Stair Tread Gray Rubber 72 inch Square Nose, measuring 12.5 inches wide for confident step coverage. If you manage or own a commercial property, these rubber stair treads are a practical decision - they cover the full depth of standard stairs and deliver a combination of slip resistance, durability, and low-maintenance utility. That wide profile makes a tangible difference for areas that see heavy foot traffic, helping to reduce wear on the original stairs while improving safety under all conditions.

Tarkett's choice of raised square texture isn't just about looks - it's built to provide added traction and stability in public spaces, making each step feel steady. The 72-inch length is a good fit for longer, broader steps in institutional and multi-family buildings, so you're not struggling with awkward seams or mismatched edges. The square nose has a subtle yet clear line, which helps protect the edge of the step and streamlines installation. Because the tread is rubber, it's quieter underfoot than metal alternatives and remains resilient through repeat use and daily cleaning cycles.

Gray was chosen here specifically because it's a versatile, neutral tone that fits in with most commercial flooring designs. Maintenance crews will appreciate that rubber is easy to clean and stands up well to both routine vacuuming and more aggressive mopping when needed. If you're phasing in new stair coverings or handling a full building retrofit, the Johnsonite model includes a five-year warranty for extra peace of mind - you get several years of reliable use with confidence built in.

This is the Angle Fit model, which has a slightly different install profile compared to universal treads. Check your staircase edge for compatibility, but for most square-edged or right-angle steps, this will install quickly using standard adhesives. There aren't extra accessories packed in the box, but Tarkett offers complementary risers separately if you want a consistent look from tread to riser. The dimensions - 72 inches long, 12.5 inches wide - eliminate a lot of hassle during installation by reducing the need to splice or extend treads for standard US commercial stairs. All materials are made in the United States, so you're avoiding long wait times and overseas sourcing issues.

One more detail: the raised square pattern isn't overly aggressive. It provides measurable grip, especially in damp or high-traffic situations, but remains easy to mop clean and won't shred soft-soled shoes. The profile thickness delivers solid impact protection without looking industrial, and the gray color holds up without showing scuff marks as quickly as lighter tones might. If you're handling a large renovation, these treads keep labor and material costs predictable without trading down on quality.
