Up to 40% off retail, Tarkett Johnsonite Raised Square Iron Mountain Stair Tread in Gray offers a 48 inch rubber square nose solution for consistent stair safety. This particular tread is built for commercial spaces where high-traffic durability is required. The raised square profile isn't just for looks-those textured surfaces provide real grip, which is honestly essential if you've ever dealt with slick shoes or rainy days on busy stairwells. The 12.5 inch width means it covers a typical step fully from front to back, while the 48 inch length cuts down on the need for seams or joins, which are weak points over time.

Construction comes down to industrial-grade rubber-this isn't the kind of stair tread that flakes or curls up at the edges after a few months. It has a bit of give underfoot, enough to dampen noise and soften steps, but remains tough against gouges and scuffs. The square nose is especially noticeable; it adds a sharp line that's easier to see in lower light, and it helps align every install-something fitters will appreciate on a big run of stairs. The "Angle Fit" model also means there's a bit more flexibility during installation, making it a favorite among maintenance staff who want projects finished without endless fussing.

Color is a neutral gray-labeled specifically as Iron Mountain-which fits most modern commercial interiors. It never shouts for attention, but it benefits from the slightly textured finish; dust, scuffs, and daily wear don't show up as quickly as they can on a gloss surface. The square-rise pattern keeps underfoot traction consistent across the entire tread, and with a 5-year warranty, facilities teams have serious backing from Tarkett. These treads are built in the United States, and you do get the feeling of a product engineered with practical usage at the core-not just box-ticking specs.

If you're sourcing for a retrofit, new build, or a replacement-there aren't any adhesives or nosing caps bundled here, so you can choose what fits your existing flooring system without leftovers you don't need. It's suited for educational, healthcare, hospitality, or retail stairs, adapting to wide steps thanks to that 12.5 inch depth. Dimensions have been designed with the professional installer in mind, which comes through in the real-world wear these stand up to.
