In Stock Now, the Tarkett Johnsonite Shark Fin One Piece Stair Tread Rubber Raised Round 48 inch x 19 inch offers lasting stair coverage in a single install. This stair tread is designed to handle both the practical and visual demands of commercial settings, offering reliable protection for high-traffic spaces while maintaining a modern appearance. Made in the United States, it gives facilities managers and builders a domestic solution when durability and compliance matter most.

The tread comes in a 48-inch length and spans a full 19 inches in width, providing full coverage across standard and oversized steps. At this width, fewer seams are required, resulting in a cleaner finish and more straightforward maintenance. The raised round finish is more than a stylistic feature - it enhances slip resistance, helping prevent accidents in busy corridors, entryways, or institutional stairwells. The Shark Fin color is a versatile gray, neutral enough to blend in with most flooring schemes without drawing unnecessary attention.

Constructed as a true one-piece solution, the tread and riser are molded together in a single product. This integration reduces the chances of edge separation over time and eliminates gaps that can catch debris or moisture. The rubber material offers a combination of resilience and comfort underfoot, absorbing some of the impact from repeated use while protecting the substrate beneath. Rubber is a strong performer for acoustics as well, minimizing the echo that comes with hard-surfaced stairs.

Installers will appreciate the straightforward sizing and the single-piece profile, which means less time wrestling with multiple components. Adhesive selection and application will depend on subfloor conditions and project requirements, but this tread is made to adapt to multiple installation needs. Its 5-year limited warranty from Tarkett adds an additional layer of confidence, especially in projects where peace of mind is part of the spec.

The raised round (coin) surface is both visually distinctive and practical, especially in settings where moisture may be present. This texturing can make all the difference in compliance checks or just keeping busy stairwells safe for everyone from schoolchildren to building maintenance teams. Even after repeated cleaning and heavy foot traffic, the durable finish resists wear and abrasion better than many commercial alternatives.

If you are specifying for a space where form and function need to align - and where timelines can't wait for custom orders - this stair tread covers most bases right out of the box. The Shark Fin Raised Round profile is a practical choice for healthcare, education, retail, or public facilities looking for performance in every step.
