Nationwide Top Dealer for Roppe Products, the Roppe Heavy Duty Smooth Somber Stair Tread 60 Inch Rubber in a 12.31 inch width is made for installations where long-term stair protection is a requirement. This stair tread stands out for its thickness and durability, featuring a premium rubber construction that holds up in environments where foot traffic is consistent and heavy. The 60-inch length covers the span of standard commercial steps, meaning you get less waste and fewer joints to manage. That's the kind of solution maintenance teams tend to favor, especially when retrofitting or working on public-access spaces.

Somber is a muted color that integrates well with institutional interiors-think offices, hospitals, transit points, and classrooms. It provides a professional, subtle backdrop without drawing attention away from the rest of your finishes. The tread's surface remains smooth, so cleaning teams don't have to worry about dirt settling into grooves. However, it still offers just the right amount of grip for reliable footing, striking a balance between slipperiness and overly aggressive traction.

Both square and round nose edge profiles are available, letting project leads select what matches site conditions or meets local building codes. Flexibility on this detail helps streamline jobs-so you can use the same tread product line across legacy stairs and newly built ones, without cobbling together mismatched supplies or risking code issues. For large properties where consistency and repeatability help keep costs in check, having this choice is more than just a small convenience.

Manufactured in the USA, this stair tread supports projects with domestic sourcing requirements. There's a practical benefit here: fulfillment is faster and facility managers can expect consistent quality-no surprises or voided specs. The tread's rubber material is formulated specifically to avoid the cracking and hardening that plague lower-grade products, especially in stairwells or entryways exposed to moisture, temperature shifts, and tracked-in grit. A 10-year warranty is in place, underscoring the product's suitability for reliably tough use in commercial settings.

The combination of a full 60-inch length and a 12.31-inch width lets you address nearly all standard stair depths. This limits exposed edges, which not only improves safety but also makes for a cleaner finished look. The smooth top simplifies maintenance-an underappreciated feature in facilities where cleaning schedules are tight and stairways are used constantly. In terms of color retention and holding up to repeated use, this stair tread stays in shape and doesn't fade out after a year or two.

This tread is part of Roppe's full heavy-duty product series, which means it pairs well with matching risers and nosings for projects needing a uniform appearance across all steps. Installers will notice how the rubber material adapts well to both straight runs and radius corners, making for fewer headaches during fit-outs or when dealing with custom stair shapes. If you manage high-traffic environments, from schools to medical centers, the Roppe Heavy Duty Smooth Somber Stair Tread 60 Inch Rubber offers a practical, dependable answer for everyday performance, safety, and compliance needs.
