Shop stair treads Online and Save with the Flexco Metal Reinforced Nose Umber 800 Heavy Duty Square 48 inch Rubber Stair Tread, a durable brown stair solution built for 48 inch steps. Flexco's Square Series is engineered for environments that need durability at scale - places like schools, transit terminals, or commercial buildings where wear is constant and expectations are high. The metal-reinforced nose gives each tread extra structural rigidity at the edge, which is where cheaper treads can show their age quickest. Even after extended use, you'll notice the tread resists curling and deformation, thanks to the solid rubber construction that runs through all 48 inches of its length and a generous 12 1/4-inch width.

This model features a square profile that provides a sharp, tailored appearance on each step. It sits flush with risers, creating a uniform look throughout a staircase without unsightly gaps. Square profiles are about clarity and clean edges, helping reduce trip points and making the transition between steps easy to maintain. The brown umber color (code 800) echoes through the full depth of the tread, giving you a consistent visual even if the surface sees years of foot traffic or scuffing. It's a practical option when you need a stair solution that both resists damage and camouflages the everyday marks that come with busy public areas.

The rubber used here is manufactured in the United States for quality and consistency. Installers will appreciate that this tread is compatible with a range of adhesives made for rubber, and the reinforced metal nose means less movement and fewer call-backs for loose edges down the line. Flexco stands behind the material with a 10-year warranty, underscoring confidence in the tread's ability to stand up to heavy-duty use in all sorts of institutional and commercial settings.

Coverage is generous - a single tread meets most 48-inch stair requirements and, at 12 1/4 inches wide, eliminates the need for piecing or awkward fitting. Pair this Square Series with complementary Flexco stair accessories for a unified appearance throughout the entire space. Maintenance is straightforward as well; routine cleaning won't impact the shape or color integrity, which simplifies upkeep for high-traffic areas over long periods.
