Lowest Price Online Flexco 48 inch Medium Gray Heavy Duty Smooth Rubber Stair Tread delivers reliable safety and resilient coverage in a 12 1/4 inch square profile. For anyone looking to outfit commercial stairways or high-traffic spaces, this tread offers a straightforward, tried-and-true answer. The 48-inch length allows for clean installation on most standard stair widths, and its medium gray shade holds up nicely between deep cleaning sessions, camouflaging everyday scuffs and marks without looking too industrial.
You're dealing with heavy-duty rubber here-there's real substance to it. This isn't the kind of stair tread that's going to curl or gap after a year of foot traffic. Flexco's smooth surface gives you consistent contact underfoot while still handling everything from boots to rolling carts. At 12 1/4 inches wide, the tread covers the full step in one pass, eliminating awkward seams or incomplete edges that risk tripping or visual inconsistencies. The square profile fits flush against stair nosings for a streamlined look and maximized protection on corners, which matters for both safety codes and peace of mind.
Installation is a straight process. These treads are built for adhesive application (adhesive itself not included), making them adaptable for concrete, wood, or metal staircases-anywhere you need something that's going to stay put. Contractors will appreciate the flexibility. The material also means these are easy to trim to custom lengths or notched edges using standard tools, which is a plus for retrofitting.
Made in the USA, each tread is covered by a 10-year warranty-not something you see everyday with basic stair accessories. That's a reflection of both the thickness and density of the rubber, which resists splits, cracking, and excessive wear even with continuous use. The medium gray color is a safe bet for projects where you're matching to existing commercial flooring or want a neutral, long-term solution that disguises the grime a bit.
Part of Flexco's Smooth Series, this model doesn't rely on ornate details or complicated patterns to get the job done. It's about clean lines, functional coverage, and compliance with demanding environments. Facilities managers sometimes hesitate between smooth and ribbed treads, but for most interior applications where cleaning is frequent or rolling equipment is present, smooth wins out. And being a part of the Flexco lineup, replacements down the line are easy to source-no oddball patterns or discontinued profiles to worry about.
