Save Now on the Flexco 48 inch Gray Smooth Heavy Duty Rubber Stair Tread, featuring a square profile and 12 1/4 inch width for reliable stair coverage. This is the kind of stair tread that handles repeated foot traffic and still looks professional, thanks to the smooth rubber construction and the understated Graystone finish. At four feet in length and 12 1/4 inches wide, you're covering almost any standard tread without the awkward gaps or trimming that come with smaller options.
The square profile creates a crisp, contemporary edge that's especially popular in institutional and commercial settings. There's a certain precision to the way this profile sits on the step, aligning cleanly with stair fronts and giving you predictable, uniform results on installation. The rubber itself is Flexco's heavy-duty spec - designed from the ground up to resist scuffing, gouging, and slippage, even when used in high-volume spaces like schools, government buildings, or airport corridors. It's a practical choice, but also one that reflects a bit of intention in upgrading away from more basic vinyl or metal alternatives.
This tread comes in a consistent Gray color that's neutral enough to blend in but distinct enough to read as thoughtfully selected, not generic. Graystone works with a range of wall base colors and flooring types; it doesn't show dirt easily and pairs nicely with polished concrete, terrazzo, or rubber tile entryways. The 48-inch length is something you start to appreciate if you've had to splice or butt together multiple shorter treads - the single-piece coverage both looks cleaner and is easier to maintain over time.
The material is rubber throughout, so you're getting flexibility as well as toughness. It's forgiving enough that you won't be fighting it during installation but structured enough to lay flat without curling at the edges. Maintenance is as straightforward as it gets - just a damp mop or basic commercial cleaner does the trick. This tread is also covered by a 10-year warranty, so you have assurance on longevity that carries well past the first few tough winters or extra-busy quarters.
Made in the United States, this model offers a solid balance between performance, price point, and long-term durability. You won't have to chase specialty adhesives - the standard commercial adhesives recommended by Flexco are compatible here, making it accessible to both professional installers and maintenance teams looking for reliable, code-compliant stair upgrades. The official product page provides up-to-date details and sourcing directly from trusted distributors.
Whether you're updating a busy facility, managing a renovation, or specifying finishes for new construction, this tread delivers consistent, code-ready stair coverage without the surprises that come with less proven options. If you're prioritizing straightforward installation, long-term resilience, and a professional finish, the Flexco 48 inch Graystone heavy duty rubber stair tread checks those boxes in a way that holds up to scrutiny - and years of daily use.
